    Given the choice of positive charge e,  and positive B_z,
    all symbols omega, omega_r, OMEGA_v, OMEGA_c are  "neg-frequencies".
    E.g.  "frame that rotates with frequency -omega"  [before Eq.2.6]
          "rotation frequency -omega"                 [after Eq.4.3]
    similarly, one could also say " -OMEGA_v is the vortex frequency",
                              and " -OMEGA_c is the cyclotron frequency".
