Experiments in Nonneutral Plasma Physics using Penning-Malmberg traps.
-
CAMV
CAMV is an electron plasma apparatus which uses a CCD camera as its
primary diagnostic, for studies of near-ideal 2-dimensional fluid flows.
-
IV
IV is an ion plasma apparatus which uses laser induced fluorescence
to manipulate and track Mg+ ions.
-
EV
EV is an electron plasma apparatus used for measurement of viscous transport
to 3D equilibrium states.
-
(CV)
The CV cryogenic electron plasma apparatus has been de-commissioned.
CV accessed the highly-magnetized electron plasma regime,
with temperatures as low as 10 Kelvin, and magnetic fields to 6 Tesla.
Both IV and CamV now perform experiments in similar regimes.
